They both had some pretty fucking nasty cuts. I was impressed with Gonzaga until he got caught. He was hitting Mirko hard and was dragging him to the ground pretty easily. Mirko's defense was impressive as well, escaped mount a few times with that big heavy mother fucker on top of him. The elbow from the bottom he landed was nice too - he's been really effective with those lately.
But that elbow on the feet, just wow. So great
That fight was a war. No it wasn't a back and forth slug fest but it was absolute war. Gonzaga was smothering and beating Mirko up bad. Crazy that Mirko went for a couple leg locks, that had me yelling.
When Mirko followed Gabe to the ground after rocking him I was screaming WHAT ARE YOU DOING! But, he knew, and god damn that was a brutal finish
All I wanted was a great fight and I got it. Maybe not the most exciting rock em sock em robots fight in the first 10 mins, but I loved every minute of it

I would love to see Mirko retire on this win. It's the perfect way to cap his career... nice run in K-1 winning the tournie no matter how watered down it was, then a decent MMA run where he gets a few wins and finishes off his career by beating the guy who haunted him forever, in devastating fashion.
But I have a feeling he'll keep fighting and they'll give hm bad matchups.
Nog vs CroCop 2 needs to happen. Who the fuck wants to see Nog vs Struve (the fight they got booked)? They need to do it as a main event in Japan. Market these old legends right.

Agree. I really hope he does but most of these guys never know when to get out, unfortunately.
