It looks like Mauricio Rua will get to fight on home turf for the fifth time in a row. The Brazilian light heavyweight, who has had better luck of late, is likely to meet Gian Villante at a March 11th event in Fortaleza. MMA Fighting reported the news.
Rua (24-10, 8-8 UFC) has won two fights in a row, taking out Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Corey Anderson by decision. The former Pride and UFC champ had lost four of five before that.
Villante (15-7, 5-4 UFC) is also coming off of a win, stopping Saparbek Safarov with strikes last month. He has alternated wins and losses in his last five fights overall.
UFC Fight Night 107 will be headlined by a middleweight bout between Vitor Belfort and Kelvin Gastelum. Another bout announced for the card will see lightweight striker Edson Barboza taking on Beneil Dariush. The show is just the second event to take place in Fortaleza.
