I fully remember this fight due to Mark Schultz wrestling build. The guy looks like he could drive through a brick wall. But I had no idea who he was.
He took this fight on about 2 days notice.

Mark Schultz is very angry with that movie and how they changed the key details and relationships. It maybe a good story, but I wouldn't use it for any historical insight, just like I wouldn't watch Pearl Harbor to learn about the war in the Pacific.

I wasn't a big fan of the movie, tbh. It was good in that it shed some light on this story but the timeline was off and the character development was very poor.

I've been following that drama. He and the director are good (see his twitter). He says the portrayal and mannerisms of all involved were perfect and while not a scene for scene timeline, captured the oddity of the time. This is straight from Schultz interviews but especially his twitter.

He was angry that some press felt there was an intentional homosexual attraction between Schultz and du pont. He seems to have come to feel that was not the directors intention and that outside of that he isn't upset.

Tell me about the timeline.I dont know much other than the followup about his mma time and that the characters were apparently pretty accurate ( though I guess there was more depth to Schultz's struggle like I would have wanted to see)

Really?

I thought the character developement, primarily Carrell as DuPont was INCREDIBLE. I think he wins an award for an amazing portrayal. He was disturbingly mezmerizing.
And Ruffalo came of very good as wrestler Dave Schultz, which I never thought possible.
And I am not a fan of what's his name, but he WAS Mark Schultz.

I really enjoyed this for the story it was, although very inaccurate. It encourages others to look into what they may not have known about.
