Dead of shooting is kickboxer Ron Nyqvist AMSTERDAM - The victim of the shooting in Amsterdam Nieuw-West on wednesday, is the 46-year-old kickboxer and criminal Ron Nyqvist. The man had just been released after a prison sentence of twenty years for a double murder. * Nyqvist was in the company of a woman when the shooting occurred. She is transferred in confused state to a hospital. One possible scenario is in this case that the victim shot himself, says the Amsterdam police. Beside the lifeless body of Nyqvist a weapon was found. Nyqvist was sentenced in 2003 to twenty years in prison for the murder of the twin brothers Rob and Eric Driesen in 2001 in Breda. He shot them dead because they were responsible, according to him, for a car bomb attack which a month earlier had been committed on him. Nyqvist and his girlfriend survived the attack, but got injured. The convicted and the victims were all acquaintances in the criminal world. In 2013 Nyqvist did not return from a leave from prison. After he was tracked down in Austria, his parole was suspended. His prison sentence was not over yet completely but why he was released on wednesday, is not clear. |
