Gray Maynard returning to lightweight to take on Nik Lentz at UFC 229

As UFC 229 quickly approaches, the sure to be legendary fight card continues to fill out. Just added is UFC veterans Gray Maynard and Nik Lentz in a barn burner of a showdown for the card. The fighters combine for six fight of the night awards.

Maynard is coming off a win against Teruto Ishihara on The Ultimate Fighter: Redemption Finale which was a three round decision victory. Gray’s return will have him returning to the Octagon after a year and two months layoff to face Lentz. MMA fans will all remember the legendary fight between Gray Maynard and then UFC lightweight champion, Frankie Edgar, go to war in a battle that ultimately ended in a draw. After that fight, Maynard went on a skid, losing six of nine fights. A win would mark his first win streak since 2010....

Can't say I want to see Maynard fight again. He's in need of resting his brain

This would have been a fun fight to see with both in their primes, but Gray has nothing left to prove in the sport. Save some brain cells. Also selfishly, I wish it weren’t on 229.
