Trivia - the line "a country boy named Johnny B. Goode" was originally "a coloured boy named Johnny B. Goode", but Chuck Berry changed it to ensure radio play.

The New Zealand anthem is a shocker. It may be the worst of them all. It's really boring - the tune is literally up, down, up, down, up do-own up - rinse and repeat. And the lyrics are embarrassing - it's all about God defend us. Plus, they always sing the first verse in Maori, which hardly anybody speaks, so in sports events the crowd always kinda mumbles through the first verse and then picks up on the second.

Australia's isn't bad though. The tune is triumphant and exuberant as befits a traditionally optimistic nation, and the lyrics are basically "Australia, Fuck Yeah", which is as it should be for an anthem.
