I don’t personally own one, but the cold weather outdoor folks I know say that their higher end jackets are fine, but a little expensive. I think a lot of the gripes come from the cheaper gear like fleeces and stuff like that- which is really just average apparel masquerading as gear, and is wildly overpriced.
