Don't believe I have tried those but I have tried the Salmon many times and just don't dig the taste and cooking shellfish in just water without seasoning is also not my thing. I guess I just got used to Cajun flavored foods.
Cajun is the shit, looks/tastes so good and I have probably only had imitations of it
Oregon cooking methods can be rather plain no doubt...One thing for sure good about it is the freshness...The places I go have pickups with coolers coming in every morning(50 miles from ocean)...I don't do shellfish mostly, prefer crawfish or crab...Salmon is a great food source and healthy but I agree, the taste is just OK when cooked...I like fresh oregon seafood fried, they probably don't fry it as good and seasoned as the south but oh well.
I prefer the Cajun style stuff, even if I have rarely had a good version of it...Loved all the pictures I was looking at from foods I hadn't heard of in Boots post...jealous of southern food for sure
Oregon has fresh going for it basically, as far as flavor and cooking methods it does seem primitive.
