Holly Holm almost won the fight against Cyborg

First off, I totally disagree with the thread title, however....

If Holly Holm would've won the 5th round, she would've won the fight.

Apparently 2/3 judges gave Holly Holm rounds 1 and 2, so had she won round 5, 2/3 judges would've given Holly 3 rounds to two.


Am I in the minority in thinking Holly lost every round and this fight wasn't nearly that close?

4-1 Cyborg but i can see how the Clinch control against the cage and counters may have had the judges give Holly another round 3-2. IMO the Significant Strikes from Cyborg gave her 4-1.

I think alot people didnt see this fight being competitive let alone go the distance.

Im not one of those people. I knew Holly would put up a hell of fight and i was right.
Even if she didnt win she has my Respect for not wilting under Cyborgs power.

It was an Awesome Fight. And Great for WMMA in General.

I didn't think holly won a single round. Now had she used knees and stomps when she held cyborg against the fence, that would have scored and made the fight closer, but she didnt, she just held her there. That is not effective in scoring, as johnny hendrix and clay guida know. You have to do something with the position, not just hold it.

I was surprised by how well Holm did. I don't usually watch female fights but I watch cyborg.

I personally scored the fight 49-46 Cyborg and the round I gave Holly was very close...2-2 going into the 5th was a HUGE stretch imo.

That's true. She came out blasting in the 5th round because she knew she was behind. If she never got caught with a couple of those big bombs and visibly rocked, she might have convinced those same judges to give her the 5th round. And what a robbery that would have been.

She did better than I expected compared to Cyborg’s usual dominant self, so gave her a round. Then realized she wasn’t really doing anything with the control, and was more watching to see what Holly was doing right than the fight itself.

Unbiasedly it was clear cut Cyborg 4-1.

it's not difficult. It's a simple formula: If+subject+ had/had not + action etc, subject + would/would not have + action.
If she had been less difficult, I would have scored. Meaning: she tested me and I failed. Oh well, there will be another

I had it 4-1 Cyborg. It is crazy to me to think she would have won if she won the 5th round. I just didn't see it....at all.
