Shit ton of people became millionaires off it in a matter of hours. Wish I was one. Had no idea how to buy it. Hope they sold and took their profits.

It is always good when people can lock in those gains.

I learned in 2021 the hard way not to be greedy on a banger of a stock, watching all those gains disappear over a few months was brutal.

A person should only invest what they are comfortable losing I was taught.

Edit: I am hoping the country will put aside their differences and learn to respect and appreciate people that are different than them. Life is too short for us to be bickering everyday when we could be working together trying to accomplish our goals.

Really? I dont see how that would be possible. Will look into that.
I'd assume they're trying to mitigate the eventual dump which would land them all in court. Of course that would also mean you don't actually own the coin, which makes it worse.

Going to do some research on that. If you can’t sell, the price can only go up or level out if the buying eases. There’s virtually no risk, so why wouldn’t anyone buy it?

The problem I always had with bitcoin is that you don't actually own anything.

Of course I owned 2 or 3 bitcoin when it first came out and I lost the drive it was on so I kinda suck...

There's gotta be a way to liquidate your holdings. Has to be.
I imagine it must be the IPO holders that can't pump and dump, if you are in the first stage of a new offering where you can get in line to buy before it opens for regular trade, then you have to hold onto it for a set amount of time and not sell in the first few days because that will just cause volatility.

As far as I'm aware you aren't allowed to sell it.
This would make zero sense and simply isn't true.
That might be a rule for IPO holders and those involved in the launch to prevent a pump and dump, but restricting the buying/selling of a coin - meme or not - defeats the entire purpose of its existence.

Only 20% of the coins were released to the market. 80% remain with the creators (CIC Digital) and its affiliates (you can read "affiliates" as the Trump family if you want). The plan is to gradually release coins over the next 3 years.

As of this morning, the coin is trading at $72.12
Up 1000% in 2 days. LMAO.

The ethical tightrope being walked by Trump right now is hilarious.

The USD fiat currency is on a path to total destruction and the US and other countries are going to have to transition to a new currency, most likely digital. Imagine if the one the world goes to and uses forever has Trump's name... that's how a person leaves their mark in history.

Also - This coin isn't available for purchase through many of the methods that people use to purchase crypto.
And it launched on a Friday.

Just a total guess here - but it wouldn't shock me if this thing still has legs as people figure out how to purchase it.

The vast majority of USD transactions are digital anyway. I think it's over 90%.

People get their paycheck via direct deposit.
They purchase things with either credit cards or pay bills via ACH directly from their bank account. Or cut a check.
There is no cash involved in any of those transactions.

People scoff at crypto, but they are already actively participating in a crypto world.
The USD hasn't been backed by gold since 1971.

I use my phone for most purchases or paying bills now I think of it.

I have my DL and other certificates or licenses digitize. We are mostly living in a digital money age.

I am going to buy a few $Trump coins because it is fun watching the numbers go up and down but will wait until it drops.

4 years of DJT, 8 years of Vance...so....in 12 years it should be popping.

Not sure what link you are talking about, but you would need to download a wallet app before purchasing as the coin needs to be "stored" somewhere. There are steps involved - and if people aren't already trading in crypto it takes a bit to set up/understand how to do it.

The app I use for crypto doesn't have it available.

It occurs to me that if people can't sort out wallets, they probably shouldn't be taking a big swing into crypto.
