...has great take-down defense from a solid base and understanding of wrestling and grappling, fighting a kick boxer who has so-so take-down defense, who primarily relies on head and upper body movement for striking defense and has never been tested off his back.

I fight the kick boxer in a kick boxing match and get KTFO...

I would aim to be like BJ Penn (him in his prime as compared to his peers). Can do everything, fucks people up, good technique, creative, would fight bigger guys. No cringey trashtalk, but bringing the excitement pre fight. finding ways to win. But, alas, prime BJ is a freak talent and has crazy reflexes. Also I'm totally not as flexible. but one can dream...
I would also aim to be a cardio machine...

If I could wish for anything I would most likely want to be like prime Chuck: always get back up, never mentally quit and blow fools up, and have the crazy celebration after a good ko.

So Chuck's reach & chin or BJ's reflexes and other gifts I can't control but I would strive NOT to be some guy with a weakness that always gets him. I'd try to work on things and improve like Bas Rutten with the the grappling, Cejudo with the striking, GSP with the takedowns etc. (Ronda with the elite boxing, hehe)

And everytime I fought in a foreign country I would try to learn to say a few things in the language there.

As a coach I'd have a guy like Henry Hooft, Master Cordeiro, Duke Roufus or Jason Parillo for the character rather than some calm guy with a safe gameplan or Javier Mendez who I found to have an authority complex in interviews that I saw (wouldn't want the guys from AKA around me anyway. great successes but not my kinda dudes)

Don Frye vs Dave Herman
Don't remember that one, not sure if LeBanner knocked him out either.

Herman is the BJJ doesn't work guy right?

Edit, just looked it up, its definitely Frye LeBanner, knocked him out.

Dave Herman is definitely the jiu-jitsu doesn't work guy. :D
He's also the guy who got tased by jack-booted Indiana police.

Thats right I remember that as well, was funny shit when Nog beat him.

Edited because I wasn't laughing at the part about the cops.

I was laughing about the Nog fight, phrased it wrong, but didn't he lose his rag when he got tased, came at the cops agressively shouting shit at them when he pulled over.
their cameras were all off
shady cop behavior IMO

on of the members here fought Herman on like 30 minutes notice
he came out of the crowd after nachos and beer to throw down

Sounds a bit shady alright. Hermans a big cunt though, if the report I just read is right he's lucky he didn't got shot, if being the key word.

I didn't know that second part, what event was that?
