What was his impact though? He has accomplishments, yes. Can you explain his actual impact on mma?
Allow me. Back in that day, fighters were not that well rounded. They were either very good at stand up, or very good at wrestling or very good at jujitsu. Fedor was the first man to be excellent in all facets of fighting. You can see his impact in about every fighter of this decade.

dont think he'd have had any trouble with BJ or kenny... he'd piece them up on the feet.

Hard to gauge how he'd do against wrestlers cause he only fought one in mendes and it was short notice. He did end up KOing him, though it was after some big GnP and takedowns for 1anda half rounds.

This is always a debate. Can the wrestler get the takedown or will the striker light him up?

Sherk is a midget, as Conor would say, and I think he'd light him up on the feet too.
Frankie is a toss up. I love him. Great battles back in the day with Hermes , Tyson griffin, etc. unless he gets takedown after takedown every round, he eats too many left hands in my opinion and goes down.

Conor vs wrestlers would be similar to sonnen vs Silva, either the 1st or 2nd fight... depends on the night. The first fight the wrestler dominated.. the 2nd fight the wrestler got his ass kicked on the feet.

Society was different 10 years ago and his way of promoting himself may not have been taking the same way it is now. There was once a time when people looked down on loudmouths and they were considered a joke. Now any publicity is good publicity.

Muhammad Ali was in the 60's. He would have been fine.
