I don't know if I'd convict her, why can't she put laxative in her own food? What if it was a super hot pepper? I can see poison having no reason for being in food, but if the food is for you and what you put in it is for human consumption, then it isn't your fault if someone steals it and eats it.
It all comes down to intent, competing harms is also a thing, which one is the greater evil, stealing or booby trapping your food.
An example, stop a women for drunk driving, she is beat up pretty bad. She tells you her and her husband were drinking and he kicked the shit out of her, she fled the home and took off in the car right before she was stopped. After an investigation it is determined that she was a victim of DV assault, she wouldn't be charged for the OUI.
I would think her job would have an issue with it as well.
Probably would have still got smacked around.
People are so addicted to tik toking themselves as if people actually gave a fuck about their day to day they will always incriminate themselves.
When I worked at an office people would do this all the time. Not to me, though. I labeled mine h1n1. And that's when that shit was all over the news. I would leave full bottles of coca cola unopened and it still worked.

Another thing, stealing someone's food or property at work was a fireable offense. With passing shifts it was hard to catch and there were no cameras in the lounge. I truly did not belong in that environment based on my h1n1 "gag" that was deemed some sort of violation which led me to threaten everyone in the office of what would occur if they took my delicious tacos. Also, I set a microwave oven on fire with some wings.
