I can't fucking do it anymore man. I'm onboard with the notion that he has always been overrated, but dude used to at least feign interest in the sport. He's been phoning it in on his show for the last year or two and only seems interested in clickbait headlines and stirring up controversy. Then he has Chael on as a guest last week to do nothing other than shit on the other Bellator tourney fighters the day before their new show is announced.

On top of all that he does shit like this:

I'm fucking out.

I ust cant deal with the fact that his show is 3 hours long in the middle of a work day.the whole thing can be summed up in a series of 5 min clips .there is no need to go on and on for 3 hours for 20 min of actual quality content.

I don't mind the long format if there wasn't 2-5 minutes of completely dead air per show or repetition of the same point with every guest for 20 minutes like last week with the Pennington corner stuff. Hopefully ESPN gets on him about tightening the show up. Either way Ben Folkes said it best:

I can only listen to chael for a minute r so at a time...so the two of them together is a hard pass from me.

chael is just lies and cringe and ariel is so pretentious

I'm out before I was even in.

I just want Joel from You're Welcome to come on and break the format while Chael tries to stop him from physically assaulting Ariel. Anything else would be disappointing to be honest.

Generally agree. Joel was his old co host and friend from back when they used to train out of his car dealership with Randy. Dude was a basket case who could barely hold down a job and constantly flies off the handle. Always enjoyed when he would shake Chael out of his gimmick with absurd shit he said and he had a special distaste for Ariel.

"You wanna act like I don't more about this sport than Ariel F'n Helwani?! The guy that does the Jerry Springer of MMA?! You wanna act like I can't pick a fight in front of him?!" hahahaha

What a completely confusing reason to hate.
So he had him on a few weeks after the release of the documentary?
And?
It's available on Amazon and itunes, and will be coming to Netflix later this year.

To clarify I'm mostly hating on Ariel because he clearly gives far more of a fuck about pro wrestling and stirring up shit than he does about the sport of mma at this point. I wasn't upset that he had Bobby on 6 weeks after the doc came out, but that the week of the Mask release he had the director of the Andre the Giant doc on his show called "The MMA Hour" even though that doc didn't come out for another week.

Honestly I've been shitting on Ariel and his show for the last couple years, but it's just gotten to the point that there is next to nothing of value coming from him other than awful clickbait headlines.

He does nothing other than awful clickbait headlines and the fact that 99% of the MMA "media" work revolves around regurgitating his awful clickbait headlines tells all we need to know about this line of work. There's no insightful content from MMA "media" IMO and even the guys who try to make technical analysis and stuff like that all come out like posers.

I should give MMAHawk's podcast a try but time's short lately. I bet it's better than all the work from the official, profesional "media".

I'd co sign this Coast 2 Coast Combat Hour is extremely solid. Between them, Co Main Event, TJ De Santis' Between Rounds shows, and some of the Bloody Elbow podcasts you could probably skip just about everything else and not miss out on anything.
