Sorry to hear that
I tend to agree, however one can label themselves conservative or liberal and agree with 75% of the "platform" I can be conservative and disagree with some of the stuff they do
I love how these geniuses put drunk by my post but dont tell me why it is wrong lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Perhaps it's thier way of saying "cheers M8!" and they really like you.
Clowns to the left of them, Jokers to the right. Stuck in the middle with Jeeeews
Per MSN, looks like the world's eyes are opening
Is Israel using an appropriate amount of force against protesters?
No, not enough
No, too much
I don't know
I'm sure the Fox News Poll has 100% saying no, not enough
Yeah Fox News, Hannity, Laura Ingraham, and Tucker, just a bunch of douchebags
The most decent person at Fox is Neil Cavuto, yet when fox fans talk about fox news and how "honest" they are, they always bring up hannity and ingraham and tucker, which is a logical fallacy because those 3 all are on opinion shows.
Trust me, I aint saying Don Lemon is sympathetic to right wingers either
I honestly don't know how Hannity gets so many viewers/listeners.
He is just absolutely terrible.
He is, the fact people listen to him is sad and revealing. His views are fucked up, his news is not even close to real news, his bias is beyond evident and he just says dumb shit.
Tucker and Ingraham are just as bad too, cringy and douchey and Ingraham is probably an actual racist, I can't prove it but my instincts are further in tune after seseing how she tells black athletes to act, not even talking about the weird heil hitler half nazi salute thing she was doing, i aint even talking about that .
Real racist, just like telling black kanye to shut up and sing.
It means they are antisemitic
Lol the same could be said for the cnn crew.they are even more full of shit
At this point that should be painfully obvious that some are. In this case, Israel killed 60 people in a planned invasion organized by a terrorist organization. In 2016 alone, Obama dropped over 26,000 bombs on the Muslim world killing who knows how many civilians & terrorists. Try searching the forum for Obama & drones & you'll find a few, but none with the level of outrage in this thread.
Ignoring for a minute that becoming a surgeon at 37 years of age is somewhat unlikely in Canada. I'll even ignore that he's not wearing what would be recognized as a medics uniform. No one with a basic understanding of gun shot wound trauma would immediately go for a tourniquet.
Pallywood is alive & well
It's simply ignored. De ja vu all over again.
Let's just say, up to 800.
That final tally has to be a very low estimate, dropping 26k bombs in one year alone but only winding up with a bodycount of 800 over 8 years seems impossible, but apparently nobody here gets their dander up unless it's Jews defending themselves. Wonder why..
On the one hand, I agree with you because party politics have ultimately been incredibly corrosive to the US political system, as George Washington famously warned shortly before leaving office. But on the other hand, "lying" is a poor benchmark for whether politicians are doing a good job in my opinion. When people say politicians "lie," they usually mean one of three things:
1) They deliberately misrepresent facts about common reality that are easily verifiable.
2) They fail to fulfill campaign promises or act in ways that seem to contradict those promises.
3) They employ a kind of rhetorical flourish that obfuscates or misdirects from the truth i.e. they talk in circles.
The first category is generally pretty rare except in this Presidency which @Pitbull3744 I think you'd have to agree is definitely the case. The fact checkers are overwhelmed. This tactic is mostly employed when a government is trying to stage manage its legitimacy for the benefit of onlookers. Sometimes it's not the politicians fault as they genuinely don't have it together due to a variety of circumstances and then just lie because it's expedient to do so. In other cases it's for more sinister reasons and people are left to interpret the lies. The Soviets were good at this. The fascists were better. The Iraqi Information Minister is probably the definitive meme.
The second category is actually very common and arguably impossible to avoid as President. I'd argue Trump does less of this because he charges forward, often recklessly, giving the impression that he's keeping his promises and if they go unfulfilled, it's not his fault, but someone else's. Courts, bureaucracy, Congress, Obama, Hillary, etc. It's actually a smart political tactic. Teddy Roosevelt was great at it. Beyond the Presidency, as anyone who's ever been a representative to anything or led anything, it's very difficult to keep promises. Circumstances are unpredictable and politics is messy. What you really have to do is at least let the faithful know you're trying as hard as possible and invoke enemies to explain why things don't work out. This is the tactic authoritarian and nationalist regimes typically use to great effect to maintain legitimacy. Nicolas Maduro is hosting a session on it in Venezuela as we type.
The third category is usually what we call doublespeak or political BS and it's almost the default means of communicating with the public, migrated from public relations communication. It's the science of being slippery, of never admitting to something, of playing coy. Partly this is in some vain hopes of mollifying the electorate so they don't take their frustrations out on you, but it often backfires and I think our society has grown tired of it. Behind this talk is an implicit idea that "you can't handle the truth" which is alienating to say the least. Democrats have often excelled at this kind of talk, though not in isolation.
So when we say politicians "lie," usually we're conflating all three of these as though they were equivalent and as though they had the same consequences. Free thought to me isn't so much about rejecting partisanship as it is about using discernment to be able to cut through the deceptive practices outlined above. In order to do so, we have to have a good grasp of history, moral reasoning and democratic principles. A basic grasp of political economy also helps as does curiosity about the broader world and the will to fight against deliberate attempts to keep people alienated from information.
To me, the American political system is an exact mirror of its population. We talk a good game about not wanting to be lied to or robbed or taken advantage of or racist or sexist or unequal, but we're largely too complacent to give up our few comforts it would cost to either improve upon or permanently alter our system. The people most disadvantaged cry the loudest and are ignored or overlooked because of myths we believe in about how you succeed in this country. A lot of America is only now catching up to the fact that those cries were a warning basically saying you could be next. There was never a period in this or any country's history where the populace wasn't being lied to by the ruling class. The lies are as old as what we call civilization. But so is the the resistance to them and the calls of the powerful to account. This struggle is the story of history and understanding it is what makes our thought free.
Yeah it's not included 2016
ok, I find it hard to believe that in 2016 he dropped 26k bombs & prior to that he only dropped as many bombs that'd result in an 800 person bodycount in all the years prior
Well I actually point out that CNN has a lot of the same issues too. But lol at saying they are even more full of shit, that's not possible. CNN has too much opinion, but does have an element of giving news. Fox has taken the actual newsgivers like Neil Cavuto, and they have probably like 15% or less air time, while the opinion shows led by Hannity,Ingraham,Tucker, all clearly and unabashedly far right wing and it seems like that is what is on just about anytime you turn to that channel. They have other opinion shows too besides those people.
Essentially both have an element that says outrageous stuff, but to me Fox is almost 90% outrageous and inaccurate, but I will be fine with anyone saying they are equally bullshit, but lol at saying CNN is more, that's a riot.
Not true guy
Me too. But I think 800 is quite enough, which would include 160 children. But nobody gave a fuck. Everybody slaps another steak on the grill come next 4th of july. It's when other countries defend themselves, and yes with collateral damge, that is when we get upset. That while we bought our freedom with massacre after massacre. But since that happened in other times, that somehow makes us feel better.
No one has any issue with Jews defending themselves, why do you even present it like that, no one has any issue with Isreal defending itself, Jews are all over the world man, the issue is with Isreal murdering innocent child and adults that are mixed in, not by their own volition, with the bad guys.
It takes a person with a special kind of lack of empathy and humanity to not see that
