A lot of times during the construction of automated machines like these, certain safeties and interlocks are not functioning just for testing purposes. But still, this should never happen. This is usually done by the set up enginneer contracted by, in this case VW. Working with a mechanic and an electrician durring set up and testing, throughout install. Its likely that the dude killed was prob electro/mecho. 100% human error, no doubt.
