I want to scream at the guy because he's a big mother fucker who clearly didn't need to throw that punch and could have just shoved her away and left the situation. Totally unneccessary by him, lost his temper like a child and did something very stupid.

That's 2 1/2 years ago. Bob Stoops, the head coach; Joe Castiglione, the athletic director; and David Boren, the university president, all saw it.
But after Mixon struck a plea deal with prosecutors and served community service, his only punishment was suspension from the team for his freshman season - essentially the same as a redshirt year. He was allowed to stay in school at Oklahoma and remain active within the football program.---

There was a time Michael Irvin went into the locker room, told a younger linebacker to get the fuck out of a barber chair while linebacker was in middle of a haircut....linebacker said to chill, Irvin said get up bitch and things happened and Irvin grabbed a pair of scissors and stabbed him in the neck........that's what they call attempted murder, but it got washed away as an accident....supposedly/allegedly

the old school part of me still at times wants to say "dont hit a girl," and i think dudes should still take an extra step of restraint where possible (similar to a huge dude not retaliating if not necessary against someone really young/inferior in size), but at the end of the day, this girl hit him. he hit her once and bounced

i hear ya. i dont know the situation. after i watched it a second time, i realized he did enter and approach. so he was almost instigating the fight, which is wrong
not sure i agree on the athlete part tho. i might not agree that he was okay in this example since he walked in. but she did still throw the first push and the first punch(slap?)
i totally hear ya on people who are superior atheltes doing as best they can to restrain themselves. i just find it hard to cast immediately judgement on someone for swinging back in retaliation bc its probably coded in our genes for thousands of years. a survival instinct
consciously approaching a female, or even a vastly inferior male, and attacking is animalistic. but a reflexive punch or two in self-defense is kosher in my book (not saying this example was kosher after seeing him approach her at the table)
I am just glad it didnt end in tragedy. A single punch that knocks out a standing person on a hard surface is probably the most dangerous situation ever.
