Indeed its a great interview, and one that all the true MMA fans can relate to, this whole Conor thing is nothing but shady.

joe may tell dana to back down. it sounds like he's a bigger fan than i thought, so he may flame dana publicly if he tries anything.

I can see his point, but the fact is that Conor has a win that is as good as or better than any win by previous title contenders at 145, including Frankie, who got his title shot without even fighting at 145. The Denis Siver fight was a weird fight, but it kept him busy and gained a lot of attention from casuals, which means from a business perspective it made a lot of sense.

When it comes to fight night in July and those guys who used to talk to you about the UFC and Chuck Liddell or GSP are asking you, 'who do you think is going to win between Conor and Jose?', no one will care that he fought Denis Siver in his last fight or be upset that it isn't Frankie in there instead.

edit: I would also like to ask where the calls were for Mendes to fight the a top guy before he fought for the belt a second time? Why wasn't he facing Cub in an number one contenders bout or at least where were the people calling for it? They didn't exist, because no one cared that much, but they care about Conor - one way or the other.
