Jon Jones remains an enigma when it comes to his future in the UFC.

The reigning heavyweight champion has the entire combat sports world waiting with bated breath to find out if he’s actually going to compete again with a highly anticipated showdown against Tom Aspinall still lingering in the air. Most recently, UFC CEO Dana White said he expected to have a definitive answer on Jones vs. Aspinall in “the next couple of weeks’ and if the fight isn’t finalized, the promotion plans to move forward on a different matchup right away.

While his latest interview was conducted prior to those comments, Jones sounded very uninterested in booking a fight right now against anybody.

“I don’t want to say that I’m retired because fighting’s in my blood,” Jones told the Full Send podcast. “Right now, I could really care less about fighting. I’ve been doing it my whole life at a very high level and when the itch comes back — and if it comes back — then I’ll do it with my whole heart, do it to the best of my abilities.

“But right now, I look around and realize what’s true, what’s real. I see the way people look at me and the way I make people feel and it’s an extraordinary thing. It’s a true blessing. Now my job is to serve that, give that to my fans, be reachable, touchable. Let them know what I have inside. That’s who I am right now. I’ve punched and kicked enough people.”

lol Jon Jones, man of peace, determined to give back to his adoring fans. sinister lies from a confirmed psychopath.

either take the fight, or leave in order to make more time for smelling another man's hair on the back of his bike.

take this assholes belt away . if he wont fight the interim champ then he is forced to forfeit the title or interim means nothing . if he is never going to fight again then retire. the HW division has been held up for 2 years with no end in sight . there aint that much talent there in the first place .why let the guys in the top 10 spin their wheels?

if jon is the GOAT he is supposed to be he should have been able to run thru all 5 of these guys in the last year and still be the champ . if he doesnt want to fight then let them fight amongst themselves to see who comes out on top . jon can go do gay shit in thailand or whatever he is in to these days . it is not fair to the division to have no clear path to the title. where is the motivation ? aspinal doesnt get champion pay as interim champ and the contenders know there is no way they can get their hands on a title shot . this is total bullshit

Ufc needs to strip him asap, then offer him the bare minimum fight per year, and each time it's aspinall. That way he can't go elsewhere and make money fighting Jake Paul or other chumps.

It's shameful for Jon, Dana, UFC, and it really fucks the fans over.

UFC was built on HW fights.
Even though the HW roster isn't deep there are a few of the world's baddest dudes on the roster and they deserve to battle it out and trade the belt back and forth as is HW tradition.

Reyes Retired Jon at LHW and he now basically only fights an exhibition bout every 3 years or so, in no way should he ever have been allowed to claim to be a HW champ.

Just looked at his sherdog fight finder profile and says Juicy J has had only 3 fights in 5 years.

3 fights in 5 years....for perspective:

Alex Pereira from November 2022 to October 2024 fought 7 times, that's 7 times in just under 2 years against Adesanya 2X's, Jan Blachowicz, Jiri Prochazca 2X's, Jamahal Hill, Roundtree.

Chuck Liddell had 3 fights in 1 year (2003) against Randy Couture, Alistar Overeem, and Rampage Jackson.

2003 Rampage fought 6 times. Those fights included Randleman, Bustamante, Wanderlei, Liddell.

Even I can't defend this shit...
I just want to see HW fights
It is just a constant changing of the belts anyways because them boys hit too damn hard
HW fights are what got me interested in MMA, we need more of them and an active champ/division

Yep
I also really loved K-1 when it was mostly HWs and super HWs competing in open weight one night tournaments, that really caught my eye. Brutal tournaments.

He isn’t a HW champ.
