After 13 months in career limbo, Josh Barnett is fed up with the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency.

Barnett, 40, told MMAjunkie he won’t agree to any settlements offered by the UFC’s anti-doping partner as a resolution to his alleged drug violation in December 2016.

As a result, Barnett (35-8 MMA, 7-3 UFC) expects USADA to hand down the most severe punishment: a four-year suspension for two-time offenders.

“I end up no matter what at the mercy of USADA,” the veteran UFC heavyweight said. “And to be honest, I don’t trust them in any way, shape or form. I have no interest to work with them or be a part of their program.

“I would be willing to do anything else but work with USADA at this point. When you can’t trust someone, what are you supposed to do? Continue to give them the opportunity to break your trust? They don’t seem responsible enough to have oversight over my career.”

Yep. Jon Jones and Cyborg are both laughing at this bullshit.

josh tested positive for roids 4 times and used 6 different types of steroids or masking agents.

"Caught:4/22/02, following his TKO victory over Randy Couture at UFC 36.
Tested positive for:Boldenone, Nandrolone, and Fluoxymesterone
Punishment: A six-month suspension from the NSAC and the loss of his UFC heavyweight title. Barnett fought the steroid charge, and didn’t compete again in the U.S. until PRIDE 32, four and a half years later. (See: Belfort, Nastula)
In his own words: “I am a fighter, not a lawyer. I am innocent, and I should be fighting right now.”
Repeat offender: Barnett actually tested positive once before, for two different anabolic steroids, following his submission via strikes victory over Bobby Hoffman at UFC 34 in November 2001. Josh was let off with a warning (which went unheeded, apparently) and the incident was never officially reported — but according to Sherdog’s Mike Sloan, Barnett’s first positive steroid test is what inspired Nevada to begin regularly testing UFC fighters for performance enhancing drugs."

Screw Barnett. I have zero respect for fighters like him or Reem. They have no place in mma, and the fact they still get paychecks is disgraceful.

If you want to pink me for so called fighter bashing, go ahead. They are both unapologetic cheating shit fuckers who deserve to get Ngannou'd.

Not many people can lay claim to destroying an entire promotion due to their cheating bullshit.

The saddest part is Barnett is talented enough to have been successful without peds.

He didn't destroy an entire promotion, poor management did.

That's rich: the guy who's tested positive more than anyone, a guy who single handedly took down an MMA company with his cheating, doesn't trust the anti-doping company.

We don't trust you, Josh.

Is it expensive to have supplements checked yourself?

It would be a fucking pain in the ass to send a sample of everything to a testing center before ingestion but it could avoid these positive results when the fighter has no clue what is going in their body

It does look like something they need to get ahead of, but how do you "standardize" that industry when it's different from state to state, country to country etc. I'd be surprised if the fighters aren't expected to foot those costs even going forward with all these USADA changes, but I would like the UFC/USADA to compare all the lists of supplements (etc) declared by mma fighters so they can test all the products that are popular and put together an approved list of products (with testing dates)

There's no perfect system but they could certainly help out so that fighters aren't wasting money on products and testing.

They do that already. They have a massive list of approved supplements on their website. It’s fightrs going off the list that causes the issues.

Somehow he has a legitimate of fans that still slurp his nuts.

You would think that he would have learned how to cycle better by now.
Him and Tim Sylvia were the two guys that got busted and I was suprised because I had always associated gear wth being huge / lean / muscular and neither fit that bill whatsoever.

Every time i think that UFC/USADA is unfair, they always prove me wrong.

Everything is listed, all banned substances, all approved supplements etc. They really do try and set everyone up for success imo.

"After shipping his unused pills to the anti-doping agency, which also purchased the supplement independently and tested it at a World Anti-Doping Agency-accredited laboratory, he awaited the results.
After the results confirmed a tainted supplement..."

If there are banned substances in the supplement that are not on their ingredients list, can't Barnett (and other athletes that have encountered the same problem) sue the ever living shit out of the supplements company for loss of earning and damage to reputation?
