Nasty hearing him talk about it. The sad thing is I believe the real damage was done with the last shot when he was already out.

Damn.

I knew when that elbow landed some serious damage was done.

Scary side of the sport we forget does happen.

Hope he recovers well.

that was the glancing knee to head of a downed and back of head shots finish with huge elbows mixed in right?

with a good lawyer he could probably sue and win IMO

Geez sounds like a lot of damage

The first hospital he went to in Florida after the fight just put him on a bunch of pain meds and sent him off. Then he went home and went to another hospital and realized his face was completely fucked (orbital bone broke, crack in cheek, nasal cavity broke, etc) and had to have emergency surgery. He's only now getting back to normal several months after the fight

So the ufc doesn't cover their fighters to the fullest? Christ almighty, talk about a bunch of sleaze balls.

*edit: I have to rescind the sleazeballs comment as it is now unclear to what degree they cover their fighters.

In addition to this, he'd probably be fucked if he didn't have a close network of personal friends in the medical field.

He doesn't come out and say anything bad about how the UFC has been handling shit, he just says they haven't really done much at all besides pay most of the bills his wife has sent them for CT scans and that sort of thing.

he said they paid his bills so far but never check in on him...at least that is what I gathered

If they are getting bills for broken face they should probably be checking in with the guy for sure.

Who does he sue? You cant sue the opponent and I imagine he signs a waiver.

Only one you could maybe sue was the commission for neglegence or something like that.

To be clear, if this isnt already blatantly obvious, I am not a lawyer. In fact I am barely awake.
