Good luck, Taint!
What is your new role? Is it different to what you were doing before or something similar and the same capacity?
I do maybe a quarter of my old job in my new job. We got some new guys the other day who specialize in another area and I realized I used to do thier job and my job at the same time. They are from Hartlepool so I get to make monkey hanger jokes at them.
It's crazy here... Death adders... Brown Snakes and taipan on site... They filmed mad max 2 here aswell
U in australia?
do you guys shoot the snakes?
Nah... Shovel to the head.
Ya I usually use shovel on Rattlers
but if they get in a tough spot I use 20 gauge
body squirms for up to an hour even without a head
That 'roo didn't follow instructions? He didn't make the coffee strong enough? You guys don't fuck around!
I’m late to the party...haven’t been on here much for the past week or so, but wanted to add another congrats for @Miesha's Taint
Hope you dig the new job bud and it works out well for you. Make the most of it, and get in there an kick some ass!
I’ve killed dozens of rattlers, see them all the time at work. I prefer a shovel if they’re on the ground, but we are often encountering them in caves. No shotguns down there lol. Gotta get creative in confined spaces...I’ve got some stories I’ve gathered over the years. Hate those buggers. The squirming shit is so weird. I’ve seen a headless rattler squirm for hours.
And for the record, if they can be left alone and aren’t bothering anyone I don’t kill them. Unfortunately that isn’t the case very often in caves. I think they feel cornered or something because they tend to be aggressive when we see them down there. Thank goodness for the cold snap, slows them rattlers down.
They are creeping on my folks place
I only kill em if they are in proximity of their buildings
I like snakes in general, but venom bites are pretty brutal
Yeah man, I know two dudes that have been bit. It’s brutal, the venom causes serious damage to tissues/muscle. I’ve been struck at, but never tagged. Keeping my fingers crossed! It’s caving season for us at work, saw two big boys a couple weeks ago. They like it down in the caves, especially when it’s cold. It’s warmer down there, plus there are rodents, frogs, etc down there for them to eat. Easy living!
What do you do for work?
Geologic consultant in the private sector, work is related to the state’s regulation of the local aquifer; and karst biology (invertebrates/salamanders regulated under the Endangered Species Act)
Aha, just like Randy Marsh!
Sounds like a cool job, bro!
*googles entire sentence*
Oh, and OP - Good luck on the new job, bro!
The road warrior!
Are you in the fucking desert man?
Near Cooper Bedy or something?
Broken Hill New South Wales
Is that near broke back mountain?
Near your mums cunt.
Nah... Love ya... Another week and a half.
Can't imagine just walking through some grass and coming across one of these bastards
Where we are working we have been told that within every ten square meters there is either a Taipan/Death Adder or Brown snake... Watch where you walk.
Life is a highway....
You won't feel it like he said.. If bitten just relax... Wrap it up and don't move around..Wrap above and below the bite and try to relax.. Don't torquet because they will remove the limb.
