The medical suspensions for WSOF 29 have been released by the Colorado State Boxing Commission and lightweight champion Justin Gaethje has been handed an indefinite suspension for unsportsmanlike conduct.

According to Colorado State Boxing Commission Director Josef Mason, Gaethje’s suspension was due to the fighter jumping on the cage and Gaethje was previous warned about this prior to the event in written correspondence.

No flips allowed in Colorado apparently, indefinite suspension. Kind of harsh for someone celebrating a win.

Dumbest shit I've ever heard. Guess they won't see Justin fighting in their state anymore.

Interesting that Justin still did it after being warned not to.
I wonder if it was fine print that he skimmed over, or it was an outlined issue unmistakebly ignored.

Sidenote,
Every time someone does a flip off the cage I'm concerned they're going to launch wrong, or land wrong and break a toe ala Jon Jones.

I agree it's fucked up to suspend the guy, but the few times I've ever seen anything like this I have to think.....what if he screws up his landing?

Wtf? The Colorado commission must've had too many edibles that day. First step is penalties for after fight celebrating, next they will ban spinning shit during fights.

I guess the guy who warned him called for some butts afterward...

It really seems a little ridiculous considering they'd just been fighting in a cage...is what is and isn't sportsmanlike all relative to the sport itself?

Plus...doesn't Super Sage backflip after his wins? Where's his suspension?

It could well be due to the potential for injury and insurance and shit like that. It's cunty but hey, if your bosses tell you not to do it then.....

This guy did absolutely nothing to ensure he'd stick that landing. Did he think he was going to magically land on his feet after being tossed upside down?

If they said don't do it, and he did, then tough titty, eat the suspension.

If it was in the fine print and he didn't read, well, suck it up and learn to read the fine print.

You at some point someone will break their neck. then everyone will cry about how we should have done something.

If we allow this reckless behavior off a cage, what would be next? Fighting inside it?
