Yeah. It's obvious he's too big for the weightclass, and is only doing himself long term damage. Time to move up and challenge himself.

Shameful if true
Indeed.

I thought RDA at 190 was too big for LW... Shit, Wonderboy is apparently 192 going into his WW fight tomorrow.

LW's should be 175... 180 max.

Guys shouldn't be cutting more than 20 lbs, that's a big cut already, and the practice is dangerous enough as is.

They should make a 195 175 and 165 lbs division and make a limit of 10-15 lbs to cut in weigh before a match... they seriously need to start considering this.

10 lbs between divisions and a maximum weight cut allowance.

hey I used to wrestle at 160 then when I finished it wasn't too long till I was walking around at 190...
Yeah, but how old were you? A teenager? You can get away with that shit when you're young and most importnaly, head contact isn't in Wrestling, you don't get punched and kicked with a dry brain from sucking all the water out of your body which apparrently takes around 72 hours to completely re-hydrate.

Jesus, according too Wiki th guy walks around at 194! Fuck that's big.

He doesn't look that big.
Fighters' "walk around" weight can be really misleading, since fighters have different off-season eating and training habits. High-level athletes tend to consume a ton of calories regardless of whether they're training. Rampage Jackson would routinely balloon up to 250+ lbs. in the off-season when he stayed home playing videogames and not doing a lot of conditioning, and then he'd go into camp and shed that weight because he's still a natural athlete. Someone like GSP on the other hand trained literally 50 weeks a year and so his weight wouldn't fluctuate nearly as much.

A fighter's training weight is a much better indicator of what their natural weight class should be. I seriously doubt Khabib is 194 lbs. ten days out from a fight.

I've heard he cuts from the low to mid 80s. 182-184ish, usually, but he was 'heavy' coming into this one.

Hey I'm making a comment on his walk around weight buddy. Walk around weight as in not in fight shape, got some extra fat on him, isn't dehydrated... Comprende?

Something needs to change. You can't keep jobbing us with this shit. It's bad enough when fights get canceled due to training injuries, heart palpitations, sneaky bathtubs or whatever. "Adverse weight cut reactions" should be banned from the list of excuses by instituting stricter rules to keep guys where they belong. And don't add more fucking weight classes please. Sorry, nature isn't fair, go out there and kick that bigger guy's ass. My 2 cents.

weight cutting is stupid. End of story. They should just weigh in guys 3-4 days before the fight and limit the amount of weight that can be cut. Limit weight cutting for everybody so fighters aren't killing themselves. So if a bunch of fighters have to move up a weight class, so be it.

I believe if weight classes exist, they should step on a scale as they enter the ring.
+/-3 lbs.

If you can't pull that off then go work at a loading dock.

What I was trying to say is that through out the season I was in great shape and maintained my weight then what it finally ended I didn't have to do that anymore and gained a lot of weight, more than I expected.

to me this has to change for the UFC as a business. This kind of thing does massive damage to the organization's credibility and in turn does them a financial disservice over the long haul.
Penalties aren't the answer but some of the suggestions you guys have already put forward, sound very sensible imo.

Maybe they could give each fighter a lower limit they can cut to based on hydration test / weight / body fat %..... maybe every year or something a fighter can get the testing done again and see if they r allowed to drop more weight (ppl change every year, may increase muscle mass or lose some, etc)

It works like you go in, have to be hydrated and pass a hydration test, then they see your weight and body fat % and decide the healthiest possible weight u can drop to...

I've been waiting 10 years for them to switch up the rules. Lost faith a looong time ago.

Should have hired Dolce.

1) If Dolce can get Alves to LW, he can get Khabib to LW.
2) Khabib's methods looked primitive, and the he also looked ill.
3) Only a proven diet coach will get him to LW. He can't be trusted or expected to do it himself now.
