I take into account the Dirt bag scum who might have escaped the justice system for various reasons... I have yet to see a legit molester be falsely accused by multiple ppl that grew up and finally spoke up... This is maybe the most cogent post I've ever seen you make on this board, which suggests you both thought about it and took the time to revise it. That's appreciated. I agree with some of your sentiments around the limits of the state to deal with crimes like abuse and exploitation of children. We know there are so many cases of people who grow up having been sexually abused and justice is never done, sometimes even if the people are discovered. I know from personal experience.
What I don't really understand is your politicizing of the issue into a left/right thing and your belief that this has anything whatsoever to do with LGBTQ people's existence being acknowledged. I have a gay kid who's questioning her gender identity. She doesn't need anyone having gay parties or blasting rainbows, but I think something you fail to consider is the overwhelming ways straightness and indeed sexuality is pushed down your throat from the time you're born. The first thing people want to know about a baby is its gender for a reason. Kids are indoctrinated into straightness in a weird kind of cult of biology and reproduction that people say is "just natural" all the time and no one questions it. We teach girls to be mommies before they even can talk. We socialize boys to behave in certain ways or we question their boyhood or manhood as if these things meant anything.
This conformity to sexuality and gender in the name of reproduction or what's "natural" is such a taken for granted part of our everyday experience that most of us straights don't even notice it. When a child reaches puberty and starts to feel a little differently, you can scarcely imagine how alienating it feels to be surrounded by this society telling them they're wrong, deviant, etc. Even though the LGBTQ cause has reached mainstream media coverage and rights have been won, we're still living in a world where you can be murdered in some places for being gay or trans and where you can be systematically marginalized. The same law that you say fails to protect children from child predators just as often lets the murder of trans people go with impunity. And you have to ask yourself, what is being protected? Is it "liberals" or "conservatives" or is the problem something more unified and fundamental? Overwhelmingly, it's men committing these crimes, of murder and molestation, and so as the primary beneficiaries, one could say it is the masculine ability to do whatever one wants that's being defended more than anything else because masuclinity is often confused with being equivalent to freedom to do as thou wilt. That's a bit of an aside, but it's worth thinking about what you're misattributing to politics that has to do with something maybe more fundamental across all societies.

There are people who grew up in a time where they could be fired, maligned, beaten or left to die for being gay almost everywhere (which has only realistically changed in the last 15-20 years). Because we're still living so close to that reality, there are bound to he some people who take their "loud and proud" performance over the top, but considering the near revolutionary victories they've won, it's unsurprising. Your reaction to this is understandable because not everyone loves the idea of people making out, dragging up or making childhood about anything that seems too "adult." But at the same time there are gay kids out there and they've a right to see something that says they're normal in much the same way the straights are having their courtship and mating rituals foisted on them. The idea of linking queerness to child sex abuse is one of the oldest narratives in the book, even though ostensibly straight men are overwheingly the perpetrators in most cases. It's "gay panic" and it's literally what homophobia is defined as. You should decouple these ideas in your mind as assess them both for the separate problems that they are. If you have a problem with normalizing anything that's overly adult in children, that's your right. We live in a world with a lot of contrasting ideas on how we protect childhood, but I think the idea that it should be protected is a noble one. It's one of the reasons why Cain's actions are understandable even if unacceptable. As someone who didn't come forward until years later when it happened to me, I can only imagine how confused and hurt his son might have been to talk about it to one of his family members. Cain's actions were dumb because now is when his son will need him the most and he's just gonna be gone. He put his sense of justice ahead of his long term duties. Understandable, but sad. This situation is separate from whatever political debates are going on elsewhere.
