Pretty quick to "jump the gun" excuse the pun.

I'm not a gun owner, but I imagine if I was I would've waited until the threat was more verified.

If I had to guess, being in Montana, it wasn't a handgun. My best guess would be a 22 or a hunting rifle.
I owned a 410 shotgun at the age of 10. But then again my parents didn't let me keep it in my fucking room. They put it in the rifle cabinet.

same here . i had a .410 a .22 and a .243 at that age but they were kept with my dads guns and i had no access to them without adult supervision

Agreed, I had a bb gun, 22 and sling shot. All were kept away from me when not around adults.

Could you sue the parents for negligence? In regards to allowing a 15 year old have unfettered access to a firearm?
