Fights don't get determined by the outcome but each fighter is scored on their performance based on stats like take downs , strikes landed etc.
It means if you have a guy picked that loses but out strikes and out grapples their opponent you still get points and might even get more than if you picked the winner who only won because Cecil Peoples scores the fight 30-26 to Big John McCarthy.
This is just the jist of what I'm getting reading about it here.
