At one point in the runup to last weekend's UFC 200, rumors swirled that former longtime UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre would return from his self-imposed exile to headline the mega-card in Las Vegas.

But if there was ever a plan for St-Pierre to come back and face the current titleholder,Robbie Lawler, they never ran the idea past him.

"Nope," Lawler said Tuesday. "They never asked me."

And Lawler, who won the title from Johnny Hendricks in Dec. 2014 and will make his third title defense against Tyron Woodley at UFC 201, isn't convinced we'll see the man most regard as the greatest welterweight of all-time ever fight again.

"I don't think he's coming back," Lawler said.

Gsp was the most dominant ww the ufc has seen. IMHO, will ever see. There isn't a fighter with as much class as he. If he never returns his legacy is still unmatched.

I have to agree with Robbie on this one. If GSP was gonna come back he would've done it at 200. He will probably continue to tease us for a couple more years, but I doubt he will come back. If he does, it certainly wont be for a belt, it will be for a "one off" type of fight like Brock just had.

I hope he never does, he clearly wants to but some things are better left as memories. He will go down as one of the GOAT and a few losses in a different era is never that nice to have. Leave the champ on your own terms and stay left. You gain way more respect for that.

If he stays retired, I will probably be inclined to give him the only "GOAT" rating that can be given......5 years from now, that is.

GSP is scurrrred...

which is fine, I don't really enjoy watching him fight anyway. I hope he stays retired.

It will be annoying if GSP continues to talk about his return and ends up never coming back. He should just be quiet or come back already and stop being a tease to his fans.
