At one point in the runup to last weekend's UFC 200, rumors swirled that former longtime UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre would return from his self-imposed exile to headline the mega-card in Las Vegas.
But if there was ever a plan for St-Pierre to come back and face the current titleholder,Robbie Lawler, they never ran the idea past him.
"Nope," Lawler said Tuesday. "They never asked me."
And Lawler, who won the title from Johnny Hendricks in Dec. 2014 and will make his third title defense against Tyron Woodley at UFC 201, isn't convinced we'll see the man most regard as the greatest welterweight of all-time ever fight again.
"I don't think he's coming back," Lawler said.
