The first women’s flyweight bout in the history of the UFC is set for June 18, as one-time strawweight title contender Valerie Letourneau meets Joanne Calderwood at Ottawa’s UFC Fight Night 89.

The UFC calls the bout a "special flyweight attraction", not "the launch of a new division". However, the promotion revealed they are "looking into possibly opening a women’s flyweight division in the future."

new division cool, but how they'll determine who should fight for the belt? They should have made something like tournament, imo

Can't wait for the 125 division. A 20lb gap is WAY to big for small women. We have a lot of them not fight anywhere close to their potential in 115 and 135.

I doubt they will open a 125 division for the women's side. It will take females from both the 135 and 115 division in the process making them weaker divisions. I see this as once in a while option for big SW's as Valerie who has a tough weigh cut usually and JoJo is a big SW.

I'm this case it makes sense to let them fight at FLW and should be a good fight.

Not a fan of this. Jojo is extremely hot at 115, but much less so when she's between fights.

She looked great on TUF, when she had to make weight numerous times and couldn't afford to carry any extra pounds.

Sriously though, i think they're the two cutest. Up there w/ waterson and rose, but rose looks angry mean so sometimes remind me of an angry boy. Penne was hot but Joanna tore her face up, Joanna is too tomboyish, and PVZ is just not my type.
