Regardless of whether or not you think Brexit is a good idea, I think we can all agree that they've fucked the process right up. But it's not even the Brexit mess itself that's so satisfying to watch, it's the identity crisis it's caused. Poms are finally coming face to face with a reality they should have faced a long time ago - that their shitty little island is weak and irrelevant.

Poms have always tried to cling on to the idea that while they aren't the empire they once were, they were still a global power. In truth, the UK is no different to my stupid country that still bows to your silly Queen. Both of us are stuck being the little bootlicking bitches of the Yanks while being equally economically dependent on Yank rivals (EU for you, China for us). We are like a woman whose husband beats the shit out of her, who is being blackmailed by her husband's enemy to sleep with him, but he also beats the shit out of us. Not a situation that will end well and there's nothing we can do about it because we are powerless and pathetic. Sad!

I like Brexit, and nationalism to a point, without the "rah-rah-rah".
I like cultures, and traditions, and nations being able to compete with respect, just like a good fight or good will.

I'd like to see everyone tell the banks & people that run them to f off, like Iceland did.
I also know the forces of evil masquerading as forces for good are too powerful for a watered down weak minded planet. And this will all end badly.

    And It's too bad.
All this technology to truly celebrate diversity, and we're punished for not blending into the collective.

I'm embarrassed. Not really of the process but the people that represent us. Not one of them is a respectable looking representative of a Brit. They just look like mongs

Militarily they still are. Their military rivals that of most nations besides the U.S.

Idk how long that'll last, though.

Meh. You're not a global power if you are essentially a vassal.

Military power only matters so much as it allows you to maintain an independent foreign policy (like Russia to an extent). I think you are overstating it too - it certainly does not rival the military strength of Russia or China or even India and it's not superior enough over other middle powers to mean anything substantial.

Britain has become so dependent on the US and the EU that its military isn't really an important factor. Even if it completely separates from the latter, it will just become an even bigger bitch to the former.

It's the another no confidence vote on the horizon? Lol. I've lost track.

Time to scrap it and have another referendum.

I think I remember reading that the Tories can't hold another no-confidence vote for at least a year, but the opposition leader (Jeremy Corbyn) can organize some kind of no-confidence vote.

@Zeph@Zeph or @Leigh@Leigh can probably shed some light on the rules/processes required.

I'm happy to answer any questions on it. In summary, Brexit will be bad if you care about the economy and/or the Good Friday Agreement over Northern Ireland. It will be good if you want stricter immigration for Europeans and if you want to ignore European legislation (like fishing our own waters, creating our own human rights and safety laws etc).

The idea of a deal is now pretty much off the table. Also, our government is demonstrably incompetent.

There are other benefits to leaving such as the ability to have state aid to a market sector, such as energy, to create a green economy to battle climate change. Remain and reform is the better option, though.

The govt cut subsidies to solar and onshore so hopefully they would change their mind.
Investment fell more than 50% in 2017 due to their policy changes.

Well the Tories would do that. They only care about the here and now. It's a real problem with capitalism.

In bizzaro world. If I came to power and actually decided to topple the EU via military force, which countries do you think would defect to the new empire?

    Napoleon Bonaparte was an anomaly.

No way another midget ever leads a global superpower.
