Here's how I see it as far as advantages.

Experience: Vitor by a country mile. Wiedmans had like 10 fights.

Wrestling: Wiedman.

Striking: Belfort. No explanation needed. His blistering
hand speed and power speaks for itself. Add in the fact that he's added devastating kicks to his arsenal and this one isn't close.

Submissions: Belfort. Hes been a BJJ blackbelt for close to 20 years. Came damn close to submitting Jon Jones.

The "it' factor: Belfort. Huge soap opera star in Brazil and married a Playboy plammate.

You add these up and Vitor has this in the bag. Just my opinion though. What do you guys think? Who takes it?

I want to agree with you, I do. The problem is, I have already counted out Weidman too many times. If we are to assume Vitor is off the TRT, I don't know how he has the gas to keep up with a younger champ. He will probably blow his wad in the first couple of minutes and have a long night ahead of him. I'm hoping Vitor, expecting Weidman.

Vitor is a messenger from god. Last I checked god defeats the American flag. Just like when vitor dropkick ed hendo in the kisser.

When this goes down I'm betting on madmax post trt cross head skinny ninja vitor 7.4.

I will make bets on here with reputable chaps. And I will chortle all the way to the bank

I'm not sure I agree with you on either the striking or submission advantage to Victor. On the striking front, Weidman is longer, stronger and as he displayed against Machida and Anderson, has very good defense and awareness. Combine that with the threat of the takedowns and he is a very high level MMA striker.

Victor has never been much of a sub guy, and there's no chance in hell he catches Weidman from the bottom. Weidman will crush Victor if he gets on top.

Submission i def give to Weidman, Hand speed Vitor but overall striking Weidman, experience def Vitor, Wrestling def weidman and that has always been Vitors weakness.

I think Weidman get a takedown early in the 1st and grinds on Vitor. Then again in the second, and likely finishes it there...if not, sometime in the 3rd. I can't see this one going past that. Chris is just an animal, really. Such a nice humble guy outside of the octagon, but something flips in there and he turns into an angry motherfucker looking to make statements.

So many intangibles with Vitor now, he's been off the sauce for a while now. And you can feel he's desperate to make the fight happen, not getting any younger either.

Betting line was saying 4-1 favorite for Weidman.

I'll be rooting for Vitor, even with all the controversy. He's been tested OOC and seems to be playing ball.

I want to believe my man, the only thing I don't agree with is subs. I think Weidman has it, he went into the ADCC as a blue belt and went toe to toe with fucking Andre Galvao. I love both these guys and it's going to be a great fucking fight

LOL at "post trt skinny cross head ninja Vitor 7.4"!

I've been wrong every time on Weidman. I will not do it again.

Because post TRT cross haired TNT skinny ninja Vitor 7.4 will kill Weidman, and I mean kill him.
The UFC will get shut down because Vitor will kill Chris Weidman, and more importantly, I will collect a tidy sum on 4-1 odds.

No way Weidman has more sub knowledge or practical application than 20 year BB Vitor, whether he implements them or not.
Weidman's reach is normal, and he only hits guys good when they're 30 inches from him.
His advantage is in his size and determination, his skills are not exemplary.
Tito 2.0 dies at the hands of TNT Vitor 7.4
RIP Weidfinkle.
Jacare, Rockhold, Romero, Mousasi....they all beat you next. You'll never see the title again.

Here is what bothers me about MMA fans and i just refuse to be this way. I dont like how some will just say anything towards the guy they love even if its not true. I mean its one thing if you are a huge fan and say you want your guys to win that is a given, but to just say oh he is better than that guy there and there is just crazy if its just knowingly not true. We all have seen enough mma fights to know exactly which fighters are better then others in certain spots. Yes styles make fights that is always very true but the facts of skill are still the facts. Not picking on you TQN this thread just made me think of that.

In that case, Weidman by lame boring decision on poor trt-less winding-down Vitor

Really have we not seen that Weidman is a finisher? He might not finish all the time but i think his finishing percentage is pretty high?

In that case, Weidman by checking a Vitor spinning kick, snapping Vitor's leg in half while simultaneously popping a cocky mocking Vitor with a nifty elbow.

If Wiedman subs Vitor, it wouldn't be until the later rounds. I see this fight ending in the first 2 rounds though. Vitor will be fresh and he's very dangerous off
His back even if weidman takes him down.

OK, honest answer.

Vitor....none of us have a clue how he's gonna look. Have we ever seen a fighter do this in history? And fight for a title no less? After nearly 20 years a legend????!!!!
But I also think during the Terry Martin fight, between Randy yelling at him and personal experiences, he finally began to emotionally mature, then came Lindland, and Franklin, and the Silva loss. He had the best reaction(most emotionally mature/grounded/intellectual) than any previous loss.

I think Vitor is coming for the kill, and will shock the world, but am closer to 55% sure. This could go very similar to UFC 51 I fear. But Vitor is the better fighter, NO QUESTION. Yet still huge hurdles both chemically and age-wise.
If it's a bad showing, it's likely his last shot.

I don't think think Weidman is gonna get Vitor's back. He's got more chance of a guillotine ala Overeem.
And Vitor's got a better shot at the RNC ala Southworth/Rumble.

I do hope it is unique, and something special. Most of all, I hope it actually happens.

I think a real issue will be if Vitor breaks, he has given up in fights before and without his trt confidence, it will be if his Jesus confidence is a enough. Weidman will get a takedown at some point, unless Vitor gets a KO early, and it is very possible Vitor will give up if he can't get up.

heart says Vitor, head says Weidman. Weidman is younger, stronger, solid wrestling base to where he can dictate where the fight takes place, where as Vitor is on his last leg, slowing down, getting weaker in power and in chin.

Would love for Vitor to win, but if Vitor doesn't finish it in the first round, I see no way Vitor wins.

I have been on the Weidman bandwagon for awhile and picked him both times against Silva. I got laughed at a lot. But, with Vitor...my heart wants him to win so badly, but my brain says it won't happen. Weidman by GnP in the fourth.

Randy Couture laid out the blue print to beating Vitor Belfort 18 years ago, and Chris Weidman will follow it.

I believe if you were to create a fighter designed for the sole purpose of beating Vitor Belfort, Chris Weidman most resembles that guy.

Relentless pressure moving forward and excellent work cutting off the cage, great striking fundamentals with really good measures of distance and timing, powerful strikes, a smothering top game with both outstanding submission offense and defense, world class MMA wrestling. Also decent cardio, a good chin, a long reach and a very physically imposing, strong middleweight.

That's not a beast Vitor Belfort can beat imo, especially without TRT.

To put it bluntly, I would be tremendously surprised if Belfort wins this fight. Still excited for it though, should be a great one.
