If you can get UFC Hall of Famer Chuck Liddell talking about Jon Jones, just sit back and enjoy.

The beef between the former light heavyweight champs goes back years and seems to have started when Liddell took a shot at Jones for refusing to fight at UFC 151. Chuck has also been a critic of Jones' fighting style for years, believing 'Bones' doesn't have enough killer instinct.

Asked this week if he sees anyone beating Jones at 205 pounds in the near future, Liddell looked pained to dole out some props for the champ in exile.

"We'll see how he comes back," Liddell told The Fighter and The Kid podcast. "He always shows up to fight. He's good at winning fights. If he keeps beating everybody he's the best right now. I still think if he fought someone like me in my prime he would have a lot of trouble.

"The problem is he doesn't hit hard enough to hurt me and he's not going to out-wrestle me. He's not going to out-wrestle me and I hit too hard for him. I would catch him sooner or later. Styles make fights."

That is just insane. The Iceman was a great fighter, but the importance of the word 'was' cannot be overstated.

this is what happens to the brain when you get old and after taking several big shots to the head.

Man i loved Chuck. Wish there was another like him.

Just got a little sad thinking what a great fight prime Chuck vs. JJ would have been.

Liddel made a name for himself by KO'ing past their primes wrestlers and BJJ guys.

Jones would wreck any version of Liddel.

He lost to Shogun FFS and thats hard to do

It would have been a good fight but Jones would have made it difficult and would have won

More than likely. Chuck had that one shot power though and was one of the most durable guys around and had a legendary sprawl(for the era).

How would prime Chuck do against the other three? Alex, Cormier, Rumble?

yep but Chuck would land on Jones in a fairly smart way, he'd be more an issue than a lot are. All he said was he be trouble not that he'd win.

Rashad put one of the most brutal KO's I've ever seen on Chuck. Violent. Jones would wreck him, and I'm a huge fan of the Iceman.

I read this earlier today and just shook my head. I'm not a Jones fan in any way, but even I recognize that absolutely EVERYONE would have trouble against Jon. This... I hate to say it, but this was almost laughable by Chuck.

I was never a Liddell fan but I respect his reign in the old days but I don't see how he could beat any of the top 5 LHW today...maybe top 10 (I'd have to look at he rankings).
