I put together this article for MMASucka and wanted to share it here to ignite a conversation:

List of Cormier's Potential title defenses

I know some of those are very unlikely to happen, but I wanted to make sure I covered all my bases. Who do you think Cormier's last two fights will be against? Who would you like them to be against?

I wouldn't mind seeing him cement his legacy by defending both titles one more time each. Corey Anderson may be the only guy who seems to make sense as of this moment at 205, what with DC telling Gus they won't share the Octagon together and all. It'd probably be an easy win for DC and a way to cement his status as a champ-champ who defended both titles.

His other fight would be Brock, since it seems inevitable at this point. If anyone deserves one last money fight and pay day, it's DC.

I WOULD like to see him fight Miocic again as well, as I feel like Stipe is more deserving than anyone of an immediate rematch.

Sucks we only get to see DC fight twice more. Thoughts?

Final 2 fights:

Conor
Ronda

Shit, never mind. I don’t want DC to end a great career with 2 loses.

I personally don’t think he beats Brock, assuming Brock can make the walk. But it will be a great payday. I also don’t think he will go back to 205. I think he will give up that belt and if he fights again it would be at HW. I think it’s more likely that he will retire if he does lose to Brock.

What Jimmy said. DC was saying that he'll defend his 205 belt by the end of the year. And if it's not Gus, then it'll probably be Anderson, Smith or Latifi.

Of course, I didn't account for them in my write-up because it seemed far-fetched, but hey, anything can happen. Though personally, if DC won't fight Gus, I believe Anderson is next in line. God, LHW is desolate at the moment.

DC's not actually going back down to 205 if both Jones and Gus are willing to move up to heavyweight. His next and possibly last fight will be against Brock in 2019. Anything DC states to the contrary is for PR purposes, imo.
