I bought the unfinished blank from some store on etsy. The metal parts (bolt action) from woodcraft.@Simpleman - that Gadsen is sweet. did you make it, or is it part of the kit?
I just google “(fill in name) pen blank”. Example: “Chicago Blackhawks pen blank”. They almost always have something. Lately I have been finding them on etsy. This was my search from a few days ago.How are you doing the graphics?
Use sawdust from the same project and wood glue. Sawdust should be from same project so it looks more natural. Mix the two together and fill in the “problem” area. You can then sand it down with a small block wrapped in sand paper (220 grit). For all the (quite accomplished, might I add) woodworkers in here, I was wondering if y'all could recommend a decent wood putty/filler that takes stain but won't shrink and crumble like the crap from Home Cheep-o. Bearing in mind I'm in commiefornia so I'm very limited in what I can aquire, too. Much obliged.
I've been looking at that one and the 735x but haven't managed to invent a reason to pull the trigger on either yet.
Was running into same problem but its portable so at least it wont take up alot of space. I want a cnc but that is not anywhere near my budget for tinkering around in the garage.I've been looking at that one and the 735x but haven't managed to invent a reason to pull the trigger on either yet.
Yep. I've been looking at big systems and then the smaller ones like the x-carve but I just can't justify the cash right now no matter how cool they are or how much I want some of the things. Was running into same problem but its portable so at least it wont take up alot of space. I’d love to have an x-carve. I could have a lot of fun with that.Yep. I've been looking at big systems and then the smaller ones like the x-carve but I just can't justify the cash right now no matter how cool they are or how much I want some of the things.
