That's kind of my point, we had superior weapons and still lost/gave up in Vietnam. No one has ever successfully invaded Afghanistan. You don't need superior weapons to win, but they do help.

It's not our fault the south Vietnamese didn't have the will to fight. We did everything we could but in the end a strategic withdrawal was the only option.

I don't know what the laws are in that state, but he should get the maximum term for the crime he committed within the boundries of those laws, if he intentionally killed the man the sentance should be longer, obviously.
