"T.J. one-hundred-percent should have gotten the rematch," Ludwig told Bloody Elbow. "It's just a favor from the UFC to give Faber one last payday before he retires."

Though Ludwig is disappointed in the matchmaking, he does believe the third contest between Cruz and Faber will be a "good fight." Ludwig said this despite having absolute confidence in what the outcome will be come June 4th.

"Cruz will win," stated Ludwig. "Faber hasn't improved much, if at all."

Inviting Duane to coach team alpha male is probably one of fabers biggest regrets.

"He doesn't deserve it but he does and I'm jealous, angry and hate him" would have been more honest.......just say no comment

Bang is a hater. Y can't he just be happy for his old pal. They should really book Ludwig vs Faber at 155.

The more I hear about this trio of Ludwig, TJ, & Faber the more I dislike them and fear that MMA is becoming too much like People magazine. It just seems like any one of them seeks out opportunities to bash the other. And yeah it's the damn journalists asking these questions, but at a certain point say no comment and get over it

Faber vs. Cruz is the most compelling fight right now. And that is what the UFC is all about these days. It doesn't have to make sense in any way.

I think Duane Ludwig is right though, Faber only has one win over a guy (sorry, don't know his name). Before that he lost to Edgar, and before that he won via eye-poke against Rivera. Not at all connvincing. We see a Frankie Edgar being skipped over regardless of his impressive 5 winning streak in his respective weightclass, while Faber gets a gifted titleshot.

On the other hand, did we want another rematch? Or is there another fighter in that weightclass more deserving? Assuncao? Sterling?

And I think he is right about the one last payday favor. (meant to edit, but quoted myself. brings me back to the ug days, the error was entirely on my side though :) )

I understand in the fight business you have to hype fights to sell PPV's and tickets but this is on the verge of being a soap opera. The trash talk between Faber, Cruz, TJ and Ludwig is childish. So we've established Fabers old and has a butt chin, TJ is a little crybaby, Cruz has back fat and Ludwig is a PB&J selling narcissist . To echo Rjpartners sentiments from post above just say no comment.
Faber vs. Cruz makes all the sense to me because Faber only has a few fights left in him and to get the most out of his star power they need to use him while they can plus it sets up future match ups. If Faber wins he fights TJ = money fight, Cruz wins he fights TJ = money fight rematch . Either way TJ will get his title shot he just needs to sit tight.
