In round 1 of the Neil Magny vs Hector Lombard fight, Lombard dropped Magny early and proceeded to put on a 4 minute lopsided beating. Everyone watching from home, likely scored that round 10-8 in favor of Lombard.

In round 2, the roles were reversed and Magny put on a lopsided beating of Lombard for nearly 5 minutes. Stats show Magny landed over 100 unanswered punches. Everyone watching from home, likely scored that round 10-8 in favor of Magny.

Yet as you can see from the scorecard above, judges Evan Field, Barry Foley, and Kon Papaionannou all somehow still had both rounds as 10-9s.

It ultimately had no bearing on the outcome of the fight, as Magny finished Lombard with strikes in Rd 3...but it makes you wonder if these judges were watching the same fight that we all were.

Round 1 they maybe thought that Magny got up at the end and was in the fight then, getting some jabs and strikes in, and Lombard already looked out of it. Not saying I agree, but I can see the argument.

Round 2 had Lombard dropping Magny once, but I guess that was his only good action there.., still, a knock down is a knock down, and boxing judges are traditionally high on those, would go against the reasoning on round 1 a little though. Not saying I agree, but I can see the argument, again. ;)

I felt sorry for Lombard last night. Dude was just taking shots and the ref was like "oh he's fine he doesn't need his brain".

i was so pissed I punched the ref in my screen, he deserved it. Steve Mazzagati told me to wait "he's not out yet".

I was more shocked at the fight not being stopped in the 2nd when Lombard was getting hit with shot after shot. At least Magny was moving when Lombard was unloading on him. I felt bad for Lombard when the 3rd started because he was moving around like a drunk whore at last call looking for a cock to suck. I actually didn't feel bad for Lombard because he is a cheater and he got beat by what seems to be an honest, hardworking fighter. Karma is a bitch.

Yeh I picked Lombard via first ko which could have been called. In the second I was like wut? Why isn't it stopped. I'm not gonna lie tho when he escaped the 2nd I was curious to see if he came out guns blazing in the 3rd although realistically we all knew he was done

It was obvious the judges were inept last night, but this is par for the course.

That ref should be in jail right now.

Right. Magny ate hard shots (some to the back of the head) but kept intelligently defending himself. Lombard mostly just ate shots for a minute-and-a-half straight. He took a lot of damage, as evidenced by the 3rd round, but that's almost besides the point. No intelligent defense for a prolonged period of time means that you stop the fight regardless of damage.
