Karim Zidan takes a look at the Russian MMA Union's decision to deny Fabio Maldonado's EFN 50 appeal.

Fabio Maldonado is quickly coming to the realization that defiance in Russia resembles a toddler attacking a brick wall.

It began when the Brazilian UFC veteran, who clobbered arguably the greatest heavyweight of all time in the opening round of the Eurasian Fight Nights: 50 main event, lost a majority decision that was highly contested on social media. Maldonado, who many believed won the opening round 10-8 because of his multiple knockdowns, lost the fight because two of the judges awarded him a 10-9 for his effort in the opening round. The overall score was 29-28,28-28,29-28.

The dejected Maldonado immediately informed MMAFighting.com that he was not impressed with the outcome…

Seriously, fuck Zidan. All these last days his posts were "the ref was appointed by the russian mma union, whose president is Fedor", "the judges were appointed by the russian mma union, vp=fedor". Honestly how many outcomes have ever been overturned, there have been so many calls that shouldve been changed due to obvious reasons in many states and countries. Im not sure this wouldve been overturned anywhere unless Fedor popped dirty.

Fedor won and im glad but it was a draw.

He did shut the lights out a couple of times but kept hitting him because the ref wasn't about to stop considering stopping it. Fabio's only chance to win would have been outright murder. hahaha

fedor must have fucked this zidan guys mother . he has a bigger hate boner for fedor than @teamquestnorth does.the fight was most likely a draw but if it was scored a 10-9 first round then fedor won the 2nd and 3rd.decisions never get overturned. russia is corrupt.brazil is corrupt. mma is full of shady characters since the beggining.its not really news to anyone.its pretty much common knowledge that you would have to kill fedor to win in russia just like you would have to kill gsp to win in montreal and your not going to win a decision against a brazilian in brazil
