In November, welterweight fan-favorite Matt Brown fought what he declared as his retirement fight against fellow TUF alum Diego Sanchez. “The Immortal” ended up winning via a vicious elbow knockout in the first round, which came along with a $50,000 bonus for Performance of the Night.

Even before the fight, the 36-year-old UFC veteran was already on the fence about calling it quits. In a recent interview on the Fight Society Podcast, Brown says he is now thinking about resuming his career if he would be given the chance to fight the former interim champion, Carlos Condit.

“Maybe it’s time for me and him to lock horns,” Brown said.…

This is the kind of fight both guys need to be in at this point.screw rankings for guys who are not on a title run or working their way up.just match them up with someone who will make an exciting fight

From Condit's latest fight & interviews sounds like he is already in semi-retirement. Brown is in semi-retirement. Could be a slugfest or a snoozefest depending on who shows up.

This fight 2 years ago gets me really, really excited. Hopefully if it happens these two make it the FOTY we all know it could be!

Could be a very good fight, very entertaining.....but I'm not convinced Condit's heart is in it anymore
I'm convinced his heart definitely isn't. His demeanor in his last two outings was one of a disinterested, shot fighter.

“Maybe it’s time for me and him to lock horns,” Brown (21-16) told the Fight Society podcast. “I’d love to. I’ve got so much respect for him. That’s definitely one people would want to see no matter what. It would be a fight for the ages. Now it would certainly be a fight that would make me want to come out of semi-retirement.”

Thought he looked game for the Maia fight, just the utter one sided grappling match that happened seem to take it out of him. Strong grapplers just are his kryptonite and WW has quite a few of them.

But you beat me to the punch on this one, apparently! I did a quick scan of the forum threads to see if it was already there but must have missed it. Old eyes, I guess!

:)
It's all good. Keep bringing it.
