It’s been a frustrating few years for fans of Jason Miller. The man known as “Mayhem” once seemed on the fast path to MMA superstardom between his entertaining personality and spot as the host of MTV’s “Bully Beatdown.”
But disappointing in-cage performances and repeated trouble with the law led to a brief retirement for Miller (23-9).
Despite concern from the MMA community over Miller’s mental and physical wellbeing, he was signed to fight Luke Barnatt (10-3) for the middleweight title at Venator FC 3, a move Venator FC President and co-founder Frank Merenda defended in a social media rant.
Barnatt told MMAjunkie Radio he wasn’t a fan of the bout, and in fact, he seemed to not expect Miller to actually make it to the bout.
The weigh-ins for the event, which takes place tomorow in Milan, Italy, took place this morning, and while Miller did show up, he didn’t show up at the proper weight.
Miller tipped the scales at 209 pounds for the 185-pound title fight, missing weight by a staggering 24 pounds.
