After some rumblings of retirement, the popular flyweight has verbally agreed to return to the Octagon against Justin Scoggins at UFC 201 on July 30 in Atlanta.

honestly Valencia was VERY good but was always the poster child for Fly Weight..I watched him in old Kotc and he would give guys who are naturally bigger all they could handle...Yoshiro Maeda shouted why he was too small...Prime Valencia would fight for a title in the ufc and give MM a better fight than most these guys..

I think he's a good fighter just kinda mentally weak and couldn't get it together. His time has passed.

He legit drew with DJ and probably would have won a fourth round, being the only guy to ever beat DJ at flyweight, if the Australian officials hadn't fucked up.

That being said, he lost the rematch convincingly, dropped a UD to Benavidez, and then later got his ass whooped by Lineker after talking shit about how much Lineker sucked. Also he self-promotes the fuck out of himself on social media.

No one in their right mind thinks he has a chance at ever getting close to victory against MM again. He'll very likely lose to Scoggins.
