It appears as though UFC 200 is on the verge of getting its main event.

The UFC is close to finalizing a non-title welterweight rematch between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz for the July 9 card, MMAFighting.com has learned from multiple sources. If all goes as planned, the promotion is hoping to announce the fight shortly.

And while the likes of Frankie Edgar and Jose Aldo have been campaigning to fight McGregor in July, the plan right now is for the Irishman to fight Diaz again after all.

Already reported for UFC 200, which will take place at the new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, are Cain Velasquez vs. Travis Browne and Gegard Mousasi vs. Derek Brunson.

They need to strip McGregor of the FW belt now. This is ridiculous. Win or lose, he wouldn't be able to defend it until what...Oct/Nov/Dec now? Vacate it and let Frankie fight Aldo for it at UFC 200.

You can't hold a division hostage but then again everyone wants to fight him and the division was cleaned out, so to speak, by him so they will probably let him rule

Yeah I don't understand why it's at welterweight again when they can drop to 155

Frankie has earned his shot.

Beat Swanson, Faber, and Mendes all while making it look easy.

Now this rematch I really fuckin hate. I wouldn't think that Conor would make this choice, because it looks like "our guy lost so we are giving him another shot to right the wrong". Fight Frankie or Aldo. Now. This just makes no sense.

And before we get any more cry babies, this fight has everything to do with money and the fact that UFC 197 sold 1.5 million pay-per-views and nothing to do with what's fair. Get over it

No photo. Efficient energy Conor destroys Nate.
Maybe. He'll need to drastically change his game plan. Don't head hunt. Chop the legs. Utilize counters more effectively. Knock off the whiffing wheel kicks. Don't go to the mat if he gets tagged. Stuff like that. He can win, but he'll need to be on point and smart about it.

He made a tactical error. These things happen in MMA.

He won't make the same mistake again.

If this is true, it takes legitimacy away from the sport. If this is true, it confirms once and for all that the ufc is more wwe than nfl. If this is true, it is the ufc once again saying "fuck what you've earned" to a fighter. There's no crying in any of that, merely stating opinions.

Awesome news.

McGregor, who is by far the superior fighter, fought a bad fight and as a result, the lesser man won.

McGregor will now right the wrong and whip the Nate Diaz.

And I will no doubt make a lot of money on here doing Paypal bets against suckers picking Diaz.
