Yep. This piece of it is just US "white" males. I have/had data for all the major countries that MMA usually represents (Russia, Brazil, US, Japan, Netherlands). US was the most readily available and tells a good story to start with. It is all mostly the same except US "black", Russian and Dutch are bigger but not enough to change the main point: the majority of males are going to weigh between 160-195lbs. before cutting weight.
But if your disinclusion of nonwhite males skews the data, you may as well include nonwhites, particularly considering distribution across top 10 fighters in MMA and how easily accessible the data is. Here's reference for all Americans at least.

Well, to be fair, Zuffa LLC. Is a (90 percent) American company that most likely derives a majority of its revenue from the good ol/ USA, especially in terms of the almighty PPV buy (and even pricing).
Actually they have diversified their income to such an extent that over 40% of it comes internationally now.

The idea of a 165 division is a really good one. As stated earlier, a lot of really good fighters never get near a title just because the talent pool is so deep. Splitting current day welterweights into 165 and 175 gives so many more great fights. I'd also like to see the Tito-weight division dropped to the originally planned 200 lbs.

What do people think of a heavyweight cutoff somewhere around 235-240, with a superheavyweight division for everybody above that weight? I'd love to see the Arlovskis and Velasquez's not having to always fight guys 30-50 lbs heavier.
Edit: This would also force a lot of the HW's to get rid of their bellys and maybe lead to some improved cardio among the big boys. I love the heavyweights, but so many fights turn into fat guys panting and looking at the clock

There are enough LW and WW fighters to probably justify this weight class addition, since right now, realistically, there are 15 or 20 fighters in each weight class with a case to be "top ten".

As for HW? There aren't even 10 legitimate top ten HWs counting everyone. There are not and never will be enough fighters to power a HW division split, and most of the historic best HWs were what you'd call "super light heavyweights" who could fight at 205 if they wanted to.

This thread has tested positive for heavy amounts of MURIKA and Bald Eagle droppings.

The majority of all human males weigh well below 160 pounds. The average man in South Korea weighs 124 pounds for instance. In India, it is 145.

Flyweight will have small sized competitors in western countries. But the UFC is expanding internationally rapidly and these small divisions in future years will be populated by those fighters.
LOL! I started with US white dudes because they are the majority of top fighters nowadays. US black guys, Russians and Dutch skew it up a bit (those Dutch are a big people - BEEP!). But you are definitely correct in that Asians and South and Central Americans REALLY skews things down. Which of course reinforces the idea that MW and above really, really cannot be split and that a 165 division and even a 115-118lbs. could be added no problem as Asian and the Southern Americas become more familiar with MMA...

This isn't true anymore.

"In an interview with the Review-Journal, Zuffa Chief Executive Lorenzo Fertitta projected UFC’s annual international revenue from sources such as staging fights, media sales, sponsorships and merchandise will outstrip its domestic revenue by 2015."
UFC plots aggressive path to expand global empire | Las Vegas Review-Journal

The UFC has gone international baby
That talk is bullshit because last year their profits took a 42% hit y/y and COINCIDENTALLY their US PPV numbers took a 47% hit in the same year. This is what prompted Moody's to downgrade them with the stated reason of profit loss being injuries that lead to fighters pulling out of PPVs. I think most of their profits are still coming from US PPV sales and that is why they went bonkers this year pushing their PPV numbers back up to 2013 levels.

I am against splitting the HWs. It is (as already stated) way too thin and, statistically, there are just too few males that weigh enough to create a big enough pool. I do think that cutting should be banned and LHW should be moved up to a 225lbs. limit with HW everything above 225.

But but but why would Lorenzo lie about his secret privately held company which buries gold to hide it from fighters? That makes noooo sense. ;)

But if domestic revenue is down it would make sense that TV deals internationally would become a larger part of the pie.

Never heard of him. Googled, and this is the first thing that came up:
Fedor Emelianenko is going to sign with the UFC; no other promotion was ever even an option. - Last Word on Sports

Is he someone worth following, or are you being sarcastic, or both?
haha that might've been his demise. I remember that.

I am being sarcastic but he is/was worth following for a chuckle. he is a small time mma internet legend for the way he used to behave on forums. I think he ragequit TMMAC for some reason maybe he was getting bullied here, I can't remember exactly what happened.
