Damn I didn't realize Megan was fighting Holly for her debut.

I think this is a stupid ass fight for Megan to take so early in her career.

Holly may tune her the fuck up and dance around her in circles.

Why Holly and why now?

Shit makes no sense to me

Because the WMMA talent pool is shallow, and they desperately need some fresh blood and new contenders. It's getting better, but there just aren't a ton of intriguing fights to make IMO
I agree there. But damn taking on Holly in her UFC debut? Her management
couldn't get her anyone with skill and experience atleast in the same ballpark as hers?

Just seems dumb as hell. I mean yeah Megan could very well skyrocket her career
by beating the brakes off Holly but the logistics say Holly dances around her and tunes
her like a damn piano.

Just having trouble wrapping my head around her management's decision to take this fight for her debut

I haven't followed Megan's career as much as I've seen of Holly's, so I can't really gauge how competitive or not this fight may be. Holly has certainly been in bigger fights with presumably better opponents, so that experience should count for something. I see this as one of those risks/challenges that fighters have to take sometimes. Like you said, she may get lit up. But she will be in a much better spot if she can win.

I guess we'll find out tomorrow night!

Yeah we will find out. That's the cool thing about this sport!

Not knocking Megan. Entirely the opposite actually. I really like her a lot and I'm 100% sure she
will be future champ. That's why this fight makes no sense to me. You have a future champion and
you throw her straight to the wolves.

Like you say though, we will certainly see if she's been fighting at a lower level
but is really on a much higher level

This is the only big W145 fight they can make without Cyborg.

I still don't like the fight though. Holly is 1-4 in her last 5, and even if 3 of those losses were to a murderer's row and one was controversial, it's still silly as fuck to give her another title fight if she wins here.

So either they knock off one of two plausible contenders for Cyborg (the other being Nunes) without replacing her, or they send Holly Holm on a further skid when she's one of the best non-Champion draws in the company. Both outcome are bad.

It should have been Megan vs GDR (if GDR publicly pledged to fight Cyborg if she won) and Holm vs Zingano.

Holm vs Zingano is still a good fight and the winner gets back in the groove. Megan vs GDR yields a plausible match-up with Cyborg, even if the GDR option is mostly schadenfreude. If GDR isn't available,

Really interested in seeing how this one plays out. Definitely a tough fight for Megan.

Megan definitely has a size advantage but I’m not sure that will matter.

I have never seen the Aussie broad fight, but I think in general size will matter vs Holm. Makes all the 'Kiyaa!' air punching shit less effective.

And also, it shows how hysterical the Cyborg-hating pussies are. Holm was basically the same size as Cyborg and she's way smaller than this broad who fights in Cyborg's division.

Megan’s sloppy, she is strong for sure but lacking in technique. If Holm fights smart she’ll take this but if Megan connects, who knows.

This is actually one of the most intriguing fights on the card IMO.

Anything is possible in MMA but this is a real mismatch in experience. Megan has been beating up chicks like Charmaine Tweet and Peggy Morgan. And I've seen her get rocked several times against this weak competition.

Holly has proven she can hang with legit world class strikers like GDR, Valentina and Cyborg. So I don't know what Megan has to offer her, other than reach.

Yep saying this is a giant step up in competition for Megan is an understatement
Plus its her UFC debut that comes with all the jitters and adrenaline dumps

Yeah 145 is a garbage division. There just isn't many girls at 145 and outside
of Dana discovering the hidden island of the Amazon Warrior Tribe there never will be
