It is pretty interesting that of the 2 largest French settlements in North America, 1 has been beaten down to a southern coast of the United States and the other has been completely contained to the north, living in America's hat.

Why are we in here hating on the French?

They helped us win the revolutionary war.
Have you ever read about the Marquis de Lafayette? That slick son of a bitch was such a bad A. After being a total baller he then goes on a grand tour of the entire US. Apparently when he showed up in New York almost 100,000 people line the streets to celebrate him. Imagine that crowd size for one guy in the early 1800s.
He then went on tours all over the US and every city tried to outdo itself.

If New Orleans weren't on the Mississippi and an important southern cotton and slave avenue, it would likely not have the large black and poor population and decades of state and federal neglect. Even as it is, New Orleans and the rest of southern Louisiana holds a completely unique culture compared to the rest of the world and especially the rest of the US.

The French got rolled on in world war II because everybody else let them. America wasn't getting involved at that point and the British just lol'd
The only reason it wasn't the British getting marched on was proximity. There was enough appeasement before then as Germany had already marched the Rhineland and other historic territories testing the will and response of other powers.

The French have hot women. They have the foreign legion. Paris is a completely unique city. They have great wine And even their average French soldiers are much better shape than ours. Granted much smaller force so they can be more selective.

The French rock and their influence in Louisiana is awesome.

Speaking of influences related to that map above, we'd have a ton of a German influence if weren't for our fear during world war II. We squashed that inside of a generation.

Because the only two French races I know are le man's and the tour de France, and they both blow ass.

Do they still start out the Le Mans (pronounce Leh Mon - wtf they got against the letter s?) with a running race across the track? What the fuck is that about?

This GIF answered my own question.
That dude going super slow protested the running start that year because its practice had drivers starting the race without securing their safety equipment. He walked slow - took his time for safety equipment - and still won the race.

That year there was a crash on the 1st lap and a guy died because he wasn't wearing his seat belt yet. 1969 was the last time the running start was used.

Thread derailment over.

Why is the Champs-Élysées lined with trees?

I’m reading a book right now about the French taking on the Russians, IN RUSSIA. Early 1800s. Napoleon.

Worst beat down this side of Belfort vs. Telligman.

Yeah. That didn't go too well for the little guy.
The Russians beat the French at their own game - out-retreated them.

Dude needs to up his conditioner game.
Looks like he's wearing a brillo pad as a beanie hat

It's a bad haircut preventing just how bald he is.
He and his brother surely could get that Elon musk treatment.

And if I was dating her...

And inviting dudes like this to the wedding...

I would be doing everything I could to slow the process.
