First baby, yeah. So far so good, but I'm always up for unsolicited advice if you have any.
@Filthy MIL got us a Nuna Tavo (?) Pretty cool, looks kinda tactical. People were whining a lot about how hard car seats are to install and use, but unless I did this one wrong, it took about 2 seconds..?

car seat shouldn't move more than an inch in any direction. If you're on the LATCH points, you're good. But check the movement until it doesn't even wiggle. Also grab yourself one of those 'seat cover' things for behind the car seat. Keep your seats in good shape.
Are you planning on more kids soon? Best advice is don't buy an 'infant' stroller or convertible. They're only in it for 6 months, and you carry them everywhere in the car seat.
