It won't help with your search problem (which I get occasionally but other times it works) but just be thankful that your company doesn't use Lotus Notes !!!

Could the search stuff be related with marking just a specific folder for searching?

No. I don't do too much moving of emails. INBOX, TASKS and DELETED. That's it.

I guess maybe I need to change that approach since their search function is so fucking shitty.

i've got the latest (i think O365) version on my desktop and an older version in a cloud environment. the older one is so bad. the O365 i havent had any issues with

I have the same issue with my work email from time to time. Not so much with my personal email. I think my company moves emails to some archive or something. If i don’t find it right away i stop wasting my time.

For what it’s worth, it seems to do better when i search my sent folder.
