Despite having just 24 days to prepare for a former two-division champion and UFC Hall of Famer, Cole Miller said he’ll have the upper hand against UFC 199 opponent B.J. Penn.
“I think it’s better for me, to be honest,” Miller told the Anik Florian Podcast. “I kind of wish these guys would call me up on two weeks’ notice every single time – when you got a guy like me who doesn’t care about just being a winner.
“All I do is train my martial arts and try to be a well-rounded fighter, and I go in there – these guys have eight to 12 weeks training specifically for me, and they get five or six training partners because they can’t find one guy who is 6-feet tall at 145 (pounds) who’s got my skills. I wish they would always call me up on short notice.”
