Nathaniel Essex. Born a human in the 1800's. His gene manipulation research caught the eye of Apocalypse, and Essex agreed to help him.

Apocalypse transformed him into a human mutate using celestial technology giving him the powers of strength, durability, energy projection, self molecular manipulation, and increased longevity.

Homie reeeeally likes fucking with mutant genes. He created Cable using Cyclops and a clone of Jean Grey named Madelyne Pryor aka the Goblin Queen.

Iirc, he wanted to create a being that could kill Apocalypse. If Cable would have never been infected with the techno organic virus, he would have had the power of his clone Stryfe, who i want to say was/is an omega level mutant.

He started off as a shitty character with a shitty name who looked like an evil Colossus, but he's gotten some good character development over time.

I fucking hate Mister Sinister (The Marauders were freakin' awesome though). Retarded name (as mentioned) and his backstory is literally just a HORRIFIC mish-mash of retconning and making a mess of characters' back stories.
