Quarter Final 4:

Thor - MarkR @MarkR vs Godzilla - Simpleman @Simpleman

Arena: A plane (LOL - and that's twice for Thor)

Combatants have their powers in their ideal settings (eg Superman has been solar charged, Neo is in the Matrix, Namor is fully hydrated etc).

Win is by KO/death. Fleeing the battle is a DQ. Battlefield removal (BFR) is allowed but does not automatically equal a win, eg Goku teleporting Batman to Africa is not a win. Goku throwing Batman into the sun IS a win.

Voting closes Thursday.

from the recent movie alone:

DURABILITY:

Had the military’s plan to kill all three monsters with a megaton nuke actually worked, they would be very disappointed to find Godzilla still standing. The whole “megatons not kilotons” statement made in the film is massively incorrect in all the right ways.

Most, if not all, the military tests in the Pacific back in the 1950s-1960s had powerful amounts of megatons in yield behind them but the most infamous one that is the most worthy to point out for Godzilla’s durability is the Castle Bravo Hydrogen bomb. This bomb is the most powerful nuke ever activated by the U.S., around the Bikini Atoll islands and was measured near 15 megatons in yield, it was the bomb shown in the opening of the film that set off in 1954.

Not one nuke, but several were launched at Godzilla in attempts to kill him and not only have none of them been successful in the slightest but Godzilla shows no visible scars from taking that many repeated acts of impact and force; which could possibly hint at his healing factor as well. In addition to surviving nukes, any emotion Godzilla displays when being pelted by missiles and projectiles is that of sheer annoyance and nothing more.

You can't even kill him with nukes. Your little bitch hammer is Godzilla's bitch! (edited to remove the graphic novel part).

It’s also important to point out how, in the Awakening graphic novel, Godzilla managed to survive and adapt to the massive asteroid that changed Earth’s climate to what it is today.

What exactly could t-whore do to the LIZZARD GOD?! Even if he had a nuke in his back pocket, it would just piss him off. Nuke don't hurt! Thor can lift 100 tons? Thats cute... godzilla weighs 90,000 tons.

"Hey check it out, I just flew through a big dinosaurs head... Naw it was nowhere near the size of the midgard serpent. Yeah, that one wrapped around the entire earth."

Which movie did that happen in again?
It's part of the historical mythology. Which was present in the film. The cycle of ragnarok repeats itself.

Also, Thor can lift far more than 100 tons in the comics. And there is no clear upper limit to his strength in the movies either.

Movie Thor tanked an entire exploding city crashing down on him. Didn't even burn off his eyebrows.

I have this feeling it's gonna be Godzilla vs. Chucky in the finals, with Chucky taking it by KO in the first.

Godzilla takes shits that weigh 100 tons. Thor needs his team to defeat frost giant. Godzilla don't need shit!

Movie Thor was getting absolutely fucking wrecked by the Incredible Hulk.

I know Godzilla /= the Incredible Hulk, but the fact that Thor was getting his ass handed to him so badly makes me think that Godzilla would win.

MOVIE ONLY... BACK TO UG FOR YOU! If we are allowing anything then Godzillas skin is impenetrable. His healing power is off the charts.

Not really. Hulk did punch him around but Thor also smashed him through the air and flying kneed him in the face. And that Hulk was the toughest screen Hulk we've seen.

I don't know if it's relevant to this fight though. It won't be a hand to hand fight. Also, don't forget that it's on a plane.

False.

Thor did not get wrecked by Hulk. Not even close.

The Hulk was in full blown rage mode and Thor was trying to calm him down and prevent damage to the entire helicarrier and also not fucking up a new team mate.

He was basically trying to calm down a drunken raging uncle. Thor didn't even break a sweat. In the same movie, Hulk stopped a giant space creature with one arm while not completely raging. Thor caught his punch and was calmly trying to settle Hulk down.

One question: if one falls off the plane, do they lose like on Virtua fighter or soul blade the video games?

Thor kills giants. That's his whole shit.

He falls giants. He has a millenia of experience doing so.

Godzilla is a big ass monster that fights other monsters. Slow moving unintelligent savage beasts.

His durability is high but he is not going to land shots on Thor. He might have luck hitting a big monster with atomic brearh but thor is a human with far better strategic mind. Godzilla is not going to know what the fuck is hitting him or wtf is going on.

Thor could hit him with a storm large enough to cover all of Asia.

Nothing stops mjolnir from returning to Thor if that is what odinson wills. If it goes to another dimension, it will break the laws of physics to return.

After the storm, Thor would throw that hammer down Godzillas throat so fast that when it flew out of his asshole, you would see a rectal prolapse so big it would level Tokyo.

Tempted to change my vote. I rewatched the Hulk vs Thor fight, and it was a lot closer than I had remembered.

Also, Hulk couldn't lift Thor's hammer. Godzilla won't be able to, either.

Thor might just smash Gojira right off the plane. But if the plane is over water I'm thinking Gojira flees the battle rather than keep taking an ass whooping.

Thor needed his little bitch brothers help in his last stand alone movie. Godzilla needs no one to win. This is an airplane. There is no lateral movement. This is a straight on slug fest. One ion blast evaporates that blond bitch. This would be like an aircraft carrier taking on 1 airman who picked up an east wing hammer from Home Depot. The hammer would survive but blondie ain't!
